Alessandro Fabian – Sport is something fun that comes from the heart...
Alessandro Fabian was born in 1988. When he’s not traveling the world, he lives and trains in the province of Padova in Italy. Starting when he was only 10 years old, he has had an amazing athletic career so far. Initially his list of achievements began with a European gold and world gold medal in the duathlon. From there he continued steadily in the triathlon world where he started winning several Italian titles from 2006 to the present. In 2012 he placed 12th in the world rank, highlighting a big potential out of the ordinary. That same year he earned a place at the London Olympics where he managed to place an impressive 10th place! Since that monumental success, Alessandro has worked hard with the support of his family and sponsors. The weapon of the Carabinieri will represent its beautiful country once again in Rio 2016. He was kind and open to give us a nice interview, where he was all smiles as he talked about his future plans that will lead to the peak of his sports season: the Olympics in Rio 2016. All of us here at Tri Fun Fit wish him good luck on his next adventure in Brazil!
Gabriele: Hello to all of our Tri Fun Fit friends! We're here today with a true triathlon champion! We've even confused his name- what a shame! We hope you're not too upset with us!
Alessandro: No worries! You called me the name of one of my teammates! So it's all good!
Gabriele: You made me laugh!
Alessandro: Exactly! We race for the same team!
Gabriele: We're cheering for you in your next races! What upcoming races do you have?
Alessandro: Thank You! In a few days I leave for an altitude training camp in Namibia and from there it’s straight to Abu Dhabi for the first ITU WCS race of the year. After that race I will be back home for one month! Then I leave for Australia for the second ITU WCS race of year followed by Cape Town WCS and then back home again. Around June I'll start my preparation for Rio with another altitude training camp in St. Moritz. First of August I leave for Rio and then 18th of August it's the big day! I wish you guys could be there to watch it!
Gabriele: Your schedule looks busy! We will certainly be glued to the TV or computer to follow your progress!
Alessandro: I am waiting for Tri Fun Fit friends in Rio! Are any of you coming?
Gabriele: We’d like to! Maybe can try to sort something out! It would be a great vacation as well!
Alessandro: I will be there! Come join as well!
Gabriele: As a pro athlete, what tips would you give for our age group and for our followers at home?
Alessandro: What I can definitely say is: have fun, have fun and have fun! Take pleasure in what you are doing; that's the essence of the sport- don't let it become stressful! It has to come from the heart; these are the fun moments you share with your family and friends, and that's what sports are all about!
Save the real commitments and responsibilities for us pros who are racing to represent the country. That being said, we have to give it everything we’ve got and do it the best way we can! You guys have fun so that we can have fun with you as well!
Gabriele: Exactly. Thanks so much and it’s nice to see you always smiling! Even though it's demanding, we see that you’re having fun as well!
Alessandro: Totally! That's what’s important!
Gabriele: Thanks very much for your time and we wish you all the best for your upcoming season!
Alessandro: Thanks!
Alexander is a real champion, inside as well as outside of the race. I think he merits the opportunity to show us his best performance. We will cheer you on until we’ve lost our voices! Meanwhile our Italian champion, as he told us in the interview, has a full itinerary of races and travelling. In fact, he finished his four weeks at the altitude training in Namibia and continued to the first race of the ITU World Cup in Abu Dhabi, where he finished at 13th place- just 1 min shy from the podium!
Well, that was the wonderful Alessandro Fabian! Keep up the great job!
